Located in the heart of Toronto’s historic Forest Hill neighbourhood, these two fourplex buildings explore how gentle density can be introduced into an established residential context with care and architectural clarity. Designed as a pair, the buildings share a common scale and rhythm while expressing distinct material identities: one in light brick and one in warm red brick.

Each building reinterprets familiar Forest Hill elements — gabled rooflines, masonry façades, deep window openings, dormers, chimneys, and landscaped front gardens — through a contemporary lens. The result is a quiet intensification of the neighbourhood fabric: eight new homes that feel grounded, crafted, and connected to the character of the street.

Together, the projects demonstrate how multiplex housing can support a more diverse and resilient city while maintaining the intimacy, texture, and domestic scale of Toronto’s historic neighbourhoods.
